As an educator there is one thing that we seem to all have in common with one another; reflection. We all have this innate ability, this desire to constantly reflect. I think that is one of the reasons that I love this field so much, reflection is so necessary to growth. I just thought about the reason that I became an educator, to help people. I love watching a person when they are learning and growing, whether that is in a math classroom and they are learning algebra or whether I am coaching a student to give a presentation and they are starting to conquer their fear of public speaking. I became a teacher because I love helping people, I want to make the world an even better place then it already is.
What I believe about children and their education-
I can show you the future. Really I can show you what it will look like and what it will be like, all you have to do is talk to our children. Children are our future, they are what our legacy is and will be. They are our greatest investment and our greatest source of hope and reason for improvement. I believe that we can continue to make our world a better place by making sure that we continue to better our children. Just as we are the seed needed for the growth of today, they are the growth of tomorrow.
When it come to our children they need to be our first priority and with an education we can provide them with the proper tools and training to be the change for betterment. Every time we educate a child we are sending a ripple into the future. I have learned and taught in racially diverse classrooms partly due to one man who showed us the way when he stated "I have a dream". When we educate our children we are building the structure for tomorrow and the day after and sending ripples into the future that carry our intentions.
